Ms. Truong Ly Hoang Phi is a prominent figure in Vietnam’s burgeoning innovation ecosystem. As the founder of Business Startup Support Center (BSSC) in 2010, the nation’s first startup incubator, she has played a pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurial growth. BSSC has since evolved into a leading accelerator in Southeast Asia, nurturing a community of 25,000 startups across 40 countries.
Beyond her pioneering work with BSSC, Ms. Phi has demonstrated a sustained commitment to cultivating innovation across various sectors. She spearheaded the establishment of VinTech City at Vingroup, a prominent Vietnamese conglomerate, and launched the VinTech Fund, a $10 million initiative dedicated to supporting research and development by Vietnamese innovators globally. Moreover, through Investment & Business Partners (IBP), she collaborates with multinational corporations like Qualcomm and SK Group to develop innovation centers and investment funds, facilitating substantial growth for portfolio companies.
Ms. Phi’s influence extends to the broader business landscape. As Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Businesspeople Association (YBA), she has spearheaded numerous initiatives to support entrepreneurial development. She also serves as a strategic advisor and host for “The Next Power,” a prominent talk show that showcases real-world stories of corporate innovation in Vietnam. Notably, Ms. Phi is an active angel investor and appeared as a shark on Shark Tank Vietnam – Season 1, further solidifying her commitment to supporting emerging businesses.
