Michigan Ross MBA Students Explore Vietnamese Innovation with VPLLC
Vietnam Partners LLC (VPLLC), in collaboration with faculty from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, recently engaged with a group of MAP (Multidisciplinary Action Projects) MBA candidates from the University of Michigan – Stephen M. Ross School of Business. This initiative, advised by Professor Paul Clyde, Former President of William Davidson Institute at University of Michigan and Clinical Professor of Business Economics and Public Policy at Ross School of Business, provided valuable insights into the Vietnamese innovation ecosystem and explored strategies to enhance the competitive advantage of the Vietnamese workforce and leadership in the era of AI and global uncertainty.
MBA candidates John Daniel, Nick Braden, Arianna Duraku, and McKenna Wieten are conducting a go-to-market project for Poornatha, evaluating the expansion of its Indian SME entrepreneurship training program into Vietnam. Their research, centered on Ho Chi Minh City and Tien Giang province, seeks to assess the demand for affordable training and explore sponsorship opportunities for Vietnamese small business owners. To this end, they are requesting introductions and interviews with local SME and startup CEOs (revenues $5-50 million) and agriculture industry leaders.

VPLLC hosted this session and has annually hosted MAP MBA candidates in Vietnam since 2017, facilitating a variety of project types and serving as a bridge between local associations and U.S./global stakeholders. This collaboration leverages networks and resources to develop purpose-driven projects that foster innovative ideas and drive growth, both tangible and intangible. Participating partners in this session included InnoEx, AEGIS Global Insurance & Risk Management Consulting Company, First Move Group JSC, and SVC Foods Pte. Ltd.
VPLLC is committed to continuing this valuable partnership with Michigan Ross in the future, providing crucial support for MAP MBA projects in Vietnam. This support will include providing access to our local network, facilities, local expertise, etc., further enhancing the program’s impact and contributing to the development of both MBA candidates and the Vietnamese innovation ecosystem.
